[KDRAMA] ORANGE MARMALADE 오렌지 마말레이드 - EP.1 (SPOILERS!!!)
[SPOILERS AHEAD]
Watching the live action of "Orange Marmalade", I enjoyed the first episode introducing the main characters - Jung Jae Min (Yeo Jin-Goo) and Baek Ma Ri (Seol Hyun). It closely follows the story line of the manhwa of the same name by artist Seok Woo, although there were some differences with the roles in the live action, it doesn't really affect the flow of the story.
I haven't finished reading the manhwa and stopped at some point (still waiting for the english trans... sad life of not being able to read Korean T-T). I find the first few minutes of the first episode interesting, especially the scene with the interview where a vampire ridicules the idea of fairness of the "coexistence" that humans always talk about - he says that in modern society, vampires were shunned and avoided.
Well, both the manhwa and the live action present the stereotypes of vampires - garlic, crosses - just sad that Ma Ri is forcing herself to be seen as "normal" by people around her, scared of being branded a monster. :'(
Then there's Jung Jae Min stating that "Vampires aren't humans." (oh... but then you fell in love with Ma Ri).
Just look at him staring at her. <3
